For fun, I tried out a few decor-centric uploads - such as Cole & Son's popular wallpaper, a bold Marimekko pattern and a selection of Amy Butler fabrics (all shown above).
But in the end, I decided on featuring a photo of favorite people in a favorite place - my family at Lao Sze Chuan, waiting for lunch!
Have you given it a try yet? What would be YOUR classic Google homepage?

I dunno... those images look awfully busy to me. I like my computer to be clean and readable!
I changed to the plain grey in the editor's picks. Call me crazy, but I actually like to READ THE WORDS ON THE SCREEN.
Love it! The best part is people have uploaded a TON of pictures. I searched for "animal collective", my favorite band, and found an awesome picture that is high res and still allows me to read everything on screen.
The regular iGoogle page is sooo tacky. I just can't bring myself to use it. So, this is exactly what I've been waiting for them to introduce: Customization and simplicity.
where do you go to upload one?? i cant find it anywhere in my account settings
@adamwa: it should be in the bottom left of the google.com page
How do you take it off? I clicked on a wallpaper to see what it would look like and I can't read anything. But I can't see where I can change the setting.
Argh.
Looked like Bing had thrown up over Google.
I had really liked Google's minimalism. Thankfully it was only for the day.
too busy for me, but where did you find those images? I'd love them for my ipad!
