Decorating with Magazines: National Geographic Yellow

In my recent tour of Erin & Kyle's U Street apartment, I especially liked Erin's yellowy bedside vignettes. Repeated in the flowers, tray, and frame, the accent color is drawn from an orderly stack of National Geographic magazines.

While many companies have a signature color, magazines are attainable and feel much less showy than, oh, say, an Herm├Ęs box. Nevertheless, Erin is still in high-class company in her use of old Nat Geos as a colorful accent. Here, find examples from Elle Decor, the Hampton Designer Showhouse, and fashion designer Rachel Roy's home.
