the good old newspaper as wallpaper trick. but a lot of environmental conscious newspapers now use soy base ink with smudges like crazy.
My mom used maps as wallpaper and covers of national geographic magazines and Time Magazines as a border (not in a theme-y way... our house growing up felt something like a museum. I might go and take pictures some time and send them in, because they'd make a fascinating house tour!) Another one of our friends had New Yorker covers wallpapering the bathroom. All of these things were cool because we could stare at them and enjoy reading through them. I don't think I'd want to use newspapers as wallpaper (except possibly the comics!) because so much news is depressing... I'd hate to have that hanging over me as I slept!
I've thought it would be cool to cover a countertop or table w/ newspaper then cover it all in an epoxy.
We have a lot of our old newspapers at home, with a little touch of unused paper we can use to decorate the room.
