Like Kirsten Hassenfeld’s paper sculptures that we wrote about yesterday, this wallpaper from Ballard Designs takes the idea of ornate decoration for its own sake to an extreme, but at the same time we love its witty potential and imagine it could be customized in any number of creative ways.
It could be the backdrop for an actual art display, a way to frame ordinary objects on a wall, or, of course, hung alone to create an ironic wall of empty frames.
The paper is available in double-rolls measuring 27-inches by 9-yards for $59/roll from Ballard Designs.

Dear Apartment Therapy,
You guys post prolifically, so I usually overlook this, but I'm seeing it so frequently lately that I'm driven to comment. Please, please, please, learn the difference between its and it's. I am otherwise ecstatic about your work.
Thank you.
I wish they'd show this in a room setting. There's no idea of scale/proportion/flow with furniture ;-(
Thank you for correcting!
I've seen this at Ballard Designs and thought it was interesting. I'd really love to see some graphics from people who have used it and customized it.
If you're into stamping or stenciling, you could put a word or a phrase within the frame.
