Designed by Autobahn and made by De La Espada, it used to come in birch ply, but now it comes in the luscious walnut that you see above. Super comfortable, classic and a little funk. We like. Also available at Matter.

What's more of the trend in dining: "With Arm" or "Without Arm"?
I decided to go "No Arm" and bought this chair. <br/>It's called the Sylvia Side Chair.<br/>

SingleinNewYork seems to be (not so subtly) SPAMing AT with ads form High Fashion Chairs.
High Fashion Home is a store I bought my mirror and dining set from. The dining chairs link was for those interested in seeing what other chairs they have. I dont want to use their images without giving them a link thats all.
At first glance, I thought that was a very nice looking chair. Then I realized it would be nearly identical to the chairs in the A&S library at my alma mater if the white leather were replaced with orange fabric!
we just bought a dining set.... and are anxiously awaiting its delivery....
we bought a frosted glass / brushed stainless table online, and went to DWR to sit on a pile of chairs... (comfort first!)
we ordered white ultra bellini chairs. they're surprisingly comfy, and very sleek in that white gloss.... also not too pricy ;-)

The lines are too reminiscent of a high chair. Plus, I've been through the agony of finding a table to fit over dining chair arms. Don't go there, seriously.

yeah, that's so true about chair arms.... we had a similar issue with our desk chair :-(
I just started on here and the only comments I left was about my mirror and now about my chairs since I seen topics about it. I still haven't felt my way around the sections yet, BUT, Im working on it nevertheless. I have to admit though, I am High Fashion Home's biggest fan.- It's impossible to not be.<br/><br/>Ok enough about me and my perfectly formated comment or "spam" as coined by Archie.

What about dining chairs doubling as living room side chairs? The Silvia has a model with arms that looks great as an end dining chair and living room side chair. Is this a design mistake or a testament to versatility?
binxie - All the employees have top-of-the-line Aeron chairs and 20" LCD monitors, but I'm pretty sure you're right they didn't spend a grand on chairs for the students to sit in. I guess we know where the double-digit increases in tuition are going.
Looking forward to your round-up. I have all but given up on finding compact, comfy, solid, classic chairs for our small round dining table that are not boring and that are affordable (for me that's under $200 a chair).
I looked at the Eames eiffel base chairs (seat height not even 17.5" - too low for our table), the Holz chair that DWR used to carry (the back hits you at an uncomfortable spot), the Bellini (too plastic for my taste), Kyoto chair also from DWR (not comfy at all and the seat depth is too shallow), Jacobsen (didn't love the cold chrome legs) and the entire gamut of restaurant chairs from the Ballroom chair to the Klismos-style ones.
I have also scouted around for a set of mid-c chairs with fabric seats and backs and that's my only hope. The new Nakashime re-issue from DWR looks lovely but it's expensive. I am now considering shaker dining chairs - they look organic and simple. We recently sat on the new Stockholm series chairs from Ikea and liked them a lot.

I was in De La Espada on Black Friday and was very impressed by these chairs. They are pretty comfortable but I didn't dare ask about the price.
Oy, "Black Friday."
