Dell has been tantalizing us for weeks with this incredible-looking laptop. It uses some quite interesting design features. It's also coming out later this fall!
We've never seen anything quite like it, but we're sure that the Dell online store will be inundated with customers trying to get their hands on the new Adamo XPS. The Adamo features a heat-sensing strip on the lid that will open the it automatically. Dell has been hyping this product for a while and we still haven't received the specs, but it won't use an Atom processor. It will use an ultra-low voltage processor that will give it plenty of power and battery life. Speaking of batteries, the XPS will feature a user-replaceable one.
The Adamo XPS is supposed to be the world's thinnest laptop at about 9.99 mm. The hinge had to be moved because the laptop was too thin to make the guts fit underneath the keyboard. That's why the lid opens like that. The hinge elevates the back of the notebook when it's open. What do you think? Is it worth $2,000?

Wow. Interesting design to say the least. A slight tilt in your keyboard is fine but that much is likely to cause some problems. I have to wonder if this is a bit too much of a sacrifice for an thinness claim. It looks like it's going to fall over.
Extreme styling exercise?
Ugly
It's kind of like having a phone so small that it's TOO small, I actually think it looks TOO thin, like it might have use difficulties because of that trait.
while it does look very interesting, I'm not sure you could call it a laptop anymore. With the large protrusion at the back of the keyboard when open, it seems like a desktop or other flat surface would be the only suitable place to use it.
I've had lots of carpal tunnel issues and what not because of how many hours a day I spend in front of a computer (I'm a software developper), and this thing is a disaster. The angle of the keyboard/trackpad will cause injuries when used for more than 1 hour per day. A keyboard needs to be flat, that's it.
that looks amazing
