Green and itch-free! Natural fiber insulation seems like a great green-alternative to the chemically enhanced fiberglass. Bonded Logic's UltraTouch Denim insulation is fire-retardant, mold-retardant, made of 85% post-industrial waste and insulates against heat and noise! Why wouldn't you use it? Via inhabitat. —aaron

Hug it out w/ Vinny Chase for green insulation.
Why is Adrian Grenier modeling insulation?
Mr. Grenier used it in his Brooklyn pad...there is a link to the Newsweek article on the Bonded Logic site.
He could pass for Bob Vila's hipster son.
I installed Insultouch in my house a few years ago, and it seems to have worked well. It was certainly much better than fiberglass during the installation process itself. And to my knowledge, the house has neither burned down nor been infested by vermin, so presumably the borax fire- and pest-resistance works.
I wish I had known about this insultation 8 months ago when we tranformed a 3 season porch into my work studio. I am deathly allergic to mold so this would have been an easy purchase for me.
Great post. Adrian Grenier only adds to the appeal. :)

errr not insultation, insulation. Sorry for the typo there. I'm sure this fiber insulation isn't abusive. :)

I keep looking at this picture and laughing. Makes me wonder what kind of home improvement product The Piv would endorse...
what is the price point? is it more expensive than traditional fiberglass batts? it seems that saving the planet is quite expensive.
Ummm...'cause it's really expensive? I don't know the price per sq. ft. but it's way out of my league (I own a house). There was a whole discussion on this, perhaps on brownstoner.com.
Um...because brownstones are so affordable?
Why wouldn't I use it? Because it's way more expensive and, where I live, about an hour outside of Atlanta, next to impossible to get.
His hair is a riot.
that's hot.
the insulation is cool, too.
I'd like to add here that the photo is by Joseph Maida for Newsweek (I'm his assistant). Thanks!
