Dept. of Suction. If you are looking for a vacuum, make sure you check out Desco before you buy. Their prices are very good and often the lowest you will find and their expertise with vacuums is unparalleled. Call them up, tell them what you want, ask them tons of questions and get a price. You can order over the phone and have them deliver to your door the next day for free. We have had only good experience with them.
Desco sells only the best: Miele, Sebo, Pullman and Dyson as well as commercial brands and floor scrubbers. They don't advertise and won't sell you anything they think you will be dissappointed in. They now also sell IQ Air Purifiers.

I love desco - they also have all the Hepa filters were various vacuums - they are super helpful.
i went to desco convinced that i had to have a miele vaccum cleaner and was shown another vacuum cleaner, a riccar, that i ended up buying. i had never heard of it before, but the owner is knowlegeable and wants to sell you what you want based on what you tell him your needs are. in my case, the riccar was the best because it did the most at the price range i wanted. the miele had the name, but not all the features i wanted at the price i wanted to pay.
We miss your uptown store; some of your internet information still gives that address.
What can I do to obtain Miele Z bags? Just bought some new ones and they are so expensive. A new design that looks like a babys diaper and almost 100% more in price. Do they still make to old ones?
Thanks and good luck.

What a great place! A store that specializes in vacuum cleaners!
They are very informed and helpful. I got a great Riccar here. They also have all the supplies you need.
I live in Tribeca. Post-911 I went to Desco for a HEPA vacuum cleaner and air purifiers. The salesmen persistently tried to upsell me and deliberately did not tell me about a Miele that met our needs and was on special. I was about to spend $200 more on another Miele when I overheard a customer ask about the special. When I asked about it a salesman grudgingly acknowledged its existence and sold me one - but not without trying to sell me a deluxe carpet attachment for my one rug, instead of the less expensive attachment.
Miele is the Best. It will pick up anything. If you want something that will cut down on the allergens there is only one true answer. Miele is the only truly HEPA certified vacuum cleaner, because you can put a HEPA filter on any vacuum but most just leak before the dirt even makes the HEPA filter so you are really just redistributing particles in your house. Don't believe me, check this out:
Through a particulate analysis on YouTube, I show how well the Miele vacuum works and truly traps the dust. My findings prove that the Miele Vacuum is completely sealed and really is HEPA.

You can see from this video that the Miele will trap all of the particles in a cloth like bag that self-seals on its way out and you are actually purifying the air in your house by vacuuming! The filtration is 99.95% effective at 0.3 microns which is amazing. Thanks to its HEPA filter and super intensive clean bags the vacuum is able to achieve this kind of filtration.

TRUE HEPA air purifiers, trap the dust and particles with a minimum efficiency of 99.97%, up to 0.3 microns â as measured with my particle counter seen in

Over the years, HEPA filtration has become a marketing scheme deployed by both vacuum cleaner and air purifier manufacturers to lure customers to buy products that do not meet the HEPA definition. Most vacuums and air cleaners that I have tested on the market claim to be âHEPA,â however, lack the filtration efficiency and other important benefits that are intrinsic to HEPA technology â so they are âfake HEPA.â They are simply imposters that do not deliver what they claim â in other words, they do not trap the dust.
To precisely find real HEPA machines, I test products (where the air flows through) with the particle counter. It is important to note, that I not only test the middle of the filter, but also the side edges and other areas of the chasis, where more often than not, there is high readings due to leakage.
