We polled the AT constituency throughout President's Day this past Monday to find out their choices for the best in Retro Modern Design...and here, ladies and gentleman is the official winning ticket:
- Best Retro Modern Chaise: La Chaise by Charles and Ray Eames (1948 - shown above the jump). This seating choice won by gathering nearly three times as many votes as Bertoia's Asymmetric Lounge - 73 to 24.

A strong write-in candidate appeared in the comments and garnered lots of support: Le Courbusier's Chaise.

- Best Retro Modern Dining Table: A complete LANDSLIDE in favor of Eero Saarinen's 1956 Tulip Table! The votes were 123 to 16, making an easy defeat over Poul Kjaerholm's 1963 table.

: Ooooh - a close race! The Wishbone by Hans Wegner (1950) just eeked out a victory over the Cantilever by Verner Panton (1967) with a score of 59 to 52.

The comments section brought up several worthy write-in candidates, the Eames DCW, and Eiffel Molded Chairs, the Saarinen tulip chair and Jacobsen's Series 7.

- Best Retro Modern Cocktail Table: Isamu Noguchi (1948) handily beat Warren Platner (1966) for the win with 104 to 53. The commenters pointed out a love for the Platner in bronze...perhaps if that had been the photo the results would have been different...

- Best Retro Modern Lounge Chair: The Womb Chair by Eero Saarinen (1948) prevails! It received 118 votes, while its competition, the Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen (1958) received 51.

The very strong write-in candidate from the comment thread? Not surprisingly, the Eames Lounge and Ottoman.

- Best Retro Modern Bench: George beat Florence - 97 to 79!

The comment thread brought up a write-in candidate that we really like...Harry Bertoia's Bench from 1952.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the elections!
