Design Ideas for Making the Most of
Extra-Wide, Long Hallway?

Good Questions

Q: I've just moved into a new apartment in Philadelphia that was formerly a slaughterhouse. I have a ridiculously wide and long hallway that i have no idea what to do with. On one side I have a console table that looked huge in my Brooklyn apartment, but now seems teeny. The hallway is about 7 1/2 feet wide by at least 15 feet long.

On one side of the hallway there is a pipe that runs from floor to ceiling, and on the other is my double-wide bedroom door. I thought about planting bamboo on the side with the pipe, but am concerned it's not bright enough (it gets indirect sunlight from one side or the other for most of the day). Any suggestions would be very helpful!
