The Farmer's Daughter Hotel is what I would call country chic. It is a boutique hotel located across from the Original Farmers Market at the Grove. Some of the unique design elements in the rooms include a rocking chair, country style rag rugs, original paintings of barnyard animals, and trellis headboards.
The design takeaways from the Farmer's Daughter Hotel? The yellow trellis headboards look like they could be a fun DIY project. Rocking chairs in the bedroom are not just for grandmas and babies. Plaid curtains can be youthful and fun. Don't throw away your Americana style garden tools; they can become a work of art. Need a new flea market indulgence? How about collecting vintage watering cans.

slick modern + country bumpkin......errrrr does not compute.
Sorry to say that but I spent the most depressing night in this hotel, backyard street level, the furniture and elements of decoration did not look so bright and lacked warmth and comfort.
I dunno...I can see the appeal but I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to hotels and like them to be slick and chic.
Too bad that hotel changed ownership a few years ago and it's dirty, and gross, and not at all well maintained.
Judging by these photos, the common spaces are much nicer than the rooms. I'm not feeling the rooms at all.
Total fail.
Well, not total... Like katalyst said, the common spaces seem a little nicer. The rest of it, however... Looks like a cheap roach coach.
hipster hee haw
My gosh, it looks like my grandparents decorated a hotel they thought would be hip for all the young kids these days. Maybe I can see the appeal.
@ec05: lol
The Farmer's Daughter is disgusting, revolting, and to be avoided at all costs.
I am the daughter of a farmer, so I should know what I'm talking about, eh? This is absolutely horrid.
As one of the owners of the hotel I can promise you we did not change owners a few years ago. We have owned the property for a very long time.
Seems like this is just not the place for some of you. And that is ok, it is not for everyone.
The Farmers Daughter Hotel is not the slick chic place nor does it aspire to be that.
@ec05: I LOVE IT!! Hipster Hee Haw.. That deserves to be on a shirt!!!
I give them credit for trying something new, but I think they missed their mark. It looks like decorating on a very limited budget (i.e., the pictures on the wall, the hanging lights, old TV, etc.). I hope the other comments weren't true, because cleanliness is the most important objective of the hotel business.
