Last week, The New York Times featured a preview of this year's Kips Bay Decorator Show House. Today, they followed up the general preview with some specific details on replicating the professionals' ideas on a budget. The ideas range from inexpensive upholstery options to contrasted pairings of furniture...

The chair above was upholstered in an African Mud Cloth. A Mud cloth-style fabric is available for $5 a yard at Yara International on 125th Street.

Designer Jeff Lincoln covered walls in corrugated paper that was lacquered with seven coats of paint. The Times suggests buying rolls of corrugated paper from uline.com and leaving them uncoated.
