It's a thing of beauty: the vintage Woodie car. The Woodie's iconic style is full of design inspiration: just look at its shape, materials, wood infill panels, color palette. We've collected a few images above to illustrate:
From the 30's to the 60's, the Woodie screams road travel. Let its look inspire you in the home or on your next getaway!

Nomade Express Slee...
I just saw one of these cars featured on "What's My Car Worth" the other night. Very cool.
Last night my husband and I were just talking about how getting a vintage woodie wagon would be a way cooler, though equally functional, family car verses a big clunky mini van. Funny how AT seems to read my mind at times!
If I had one I'd go around and tell everyone I had a Woodie. Yes, it's puerile.
Even after looking throught the Wikipedia entry for them, I still can't answer one question about woodies: WHY?
How did it occur to car makers to say, "Hey, here's an idea: instead of building the whole thing out of steel, why don't we massively complicate the process by inserting a bunch of wood into the design?"
Blandwagon- cars or horseless carriages as they used to be called we made out of wood which was phased out to all steel then someone thought it'd be cool to bring the style back 30 years later....sound familier? Kinda like car design today! Cool- huh!?!
I guess Tell City made the wood parts of those cars, so if you want their 'look to inspire you in the home', just get yourself some Tell City furniture!
