We think it's important to support up and coming local designers. It encourages the creative community and spending your dollars on locally made produce makes environmental sense too. They're also great places to buy unique gifts for friends, family, and even yourself. Jump below for details on the Young Blood: Designers Market in Sydney, Market 3031 and the Design Market in Melbourne, all coming up in the next 2 months.

  • Sydney Young Blood: Designers Market presented by the Powerhouse Museum You can meet the makers and chat to them about their original designs in fashion, furniture, lighting, jewellery and products. It's on at the Powerhouse Museum, 500 Harris Street, Ultimo, Friday 12 December, 6.00pm – 9.00pm, Saturday 13 December, 8.00am – 5.00pm.
  • Melbourne MARKET 3031 This is a local artist market being held this weekend, Saturday 22 November at the Scout Hall, 55 McCracken St, Kensington, Victoria, 10am-4pm.
  • Melbourne Melbourne Design Market This very popular market in the undercover carpark at Federation Square tends to get packed out, so get there early to avoid the crowds. There are lots of great home wares, jewellery and coffee on hand to fight shopper's fatigue. Sunday, 30 November 2008, Undercover Carpark, Federation Square. Enter via Russell Street extension or Atrium underpass.
