These colored baths look fantastic with everything, from white tile to wallpaper to same-colored walls. And though choosing such a bold fixture color might seem limiting for future decor changes, keep in mind how many different ways you might complement and contemporize a single shade as the years go on. As long as you truly love it, the possibilities are endless.

White Enamel Four-P...
ahhhh!!! i JUST painted mine black! i'm not going through the hassle of painting it another color, but i WILL steal the idea of the ruffly curtain with pops of yellow!! ...and maybe the idea of the HUGE mirror in the bathroom too...
The purple one is godly!
my dream...
I like the fourth execution the best.
I love clawfoot tubs SO MUCH! But I can't yet decide if going for color is what I want yet....
If I did, the feet would be the same color as the outside as in picture #1. And the color would be soft and muted as in #4.
LOVE!
i just moved to a victorian apartment with a claw foot tub and i thought it would be so whimsical and fun to have, but i hate it! it's taken me forever to install the shower curtain holder and figure out a way to attach the shower head. i've been taking one handed, squatting showers for the past week. http://d30opm7hsgivgh.cloudfront.net/upload/135095546_kCn17HdB_c.jpg and it's a gross pink color
What great examples of great use of color in the bathroom! Love the red one and the orange one!
@Vitabread, I saw that picture of your tub, and, frankly, I like it. Sometimes we have to work with what we have. I would love to trade tubs with you if it were possible.
On an old Debbie Travis show she silver-leafed a tub. It was very pretty.
Ah! One of the ultimate dilemmas. Claw foot tubs are wonderful and beautiful! A few things to consider are the weight- those puppies are heavy and you may have to look into reinforcing your sub floor to accommodate the tub. Expensive.
The other problem is actually using it :) who has time for baths? Would you really use it enough?

Ooooh I would paint mine matte black. I love the set design from It's Complicated! I hear your pain @Vitabread. While I love the look of them I always think about how awkward it would be to shower in them.
It's not awkward to shower if you have an oval wall/ceiling-suspended curtain ring. I love love love my tub. It's heavenly for the occasional bath, especially on the coldest winter evenings. Those puppies hold in heat like nobody's business. I will always make time for a warm bath.
Yes! My friends just moved into a new place with a shimmery gold clawfoot tub! I am so jealous since we gave up the amazing tub in our last apartment for a bit more space in this one. Wish I could do it over again!
xx.
How timely - I've been renovating an old Victorian, and just yesterday had the outside of our claw foot tub painted a dark gray - it looks awesome! (we had the inside re-finished, and it looks brand new).
Using a tub: have you ever worked out hard, have gotten sore muscles from gardening or hiking, rock climbing, kayaking or whatever? A tub has uses aside from romantic ones!
@GG-loves-apartments thanks, I guess you're right, the showering issue is the biggest thing for me so I gotta find some way to make that work.
Gorgeous!
