Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which opened in theaters this past weekend, marks the end of 10 years of Harry Potter movie magic. Watching the last film, I felt by turns anxious, jubilant, and more than a little nostalgic. I'll miss Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the gang. I'll miss Alan Rickman and his delicious sneering. And more than anything, I'll miss Hogwarts. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry isn't just Harry Potter's first home, and the site of his final battle - it's the heart and soul of the Wizarding world.
So I took it upon myself to create a little photo tour of everyone's favorite fictional castle, starting from our very first glimpse of Hogwarts in Harry's very first movie. I hope you enjoy.

Someone had a lot of fun doing Professor Dolores Umbridges office.
Yay! Love HP and loved the movies! I remember the first time I read about Umbridge's office, I was a little creeped out. When I saw it in the movie... I would have run for my life! All the sets were so beautiful and well done. And that bridge is my fav ever!
I've always thought that I'd want some sort of gruesome magical illness if it meant spending time in that infirmary!
Ah, best post! You made my afternoon! :)
What a delightful post! I always loved the Gryffendore Common Room, so cozy!
I loved the Halloween scenes in the films too. The hanging jack-o-lanterns over the dining tables were awesome.
Hogwarts is cool but I always like the Weasley house...
I love the Weasley house as well! It is fun to look back... some of the best set designs EVER!
Loved the Weasley house, too. But don't forget Luna's house. I loved that there was always a fire in Gryffindor's Common Room. My all time favorite was Hagrid's house. Perhaps because I'll be living in a yurt before long.
Hogwarts Hogwarts Hoggy Hoggy Hogwarts!
There are three Slytherin robes and two Gryffindor ones hanging up at my door from the premiere, as well as random broomsticks, wands, and a golden snitch in the living room. Long live magic, and up Hogwarts! :)
Ah, this makes me so happy. Thank you. I was truly sad to see the series end, it's meant so much to me over the years...and of course, the aesthetic of the school is awesome (well, except for Umbridge's office, which is just a bit scary). :)
agree with the above! the Weasley house rocks!
What about hagrid's hut or dumbledore's office?Great post tho.
Oddly enough, I really liked the tent that the Weasleys had for the Quidditch World Cup. I remember drooling over the fabrics when the pictures were first released.
(Also, augh, I hate that stupid 'Sorcerer's Stone' business. It is a Philosopher's Stone, the actual object was a Philosopher's Stone and not a Sorcerer's Stone, Philosopher's Stone is the original and real title, AGH! ...Sorry.)
i always loved the great hall. how i wished i went to school at hogwarts.
This post is going to make me cry...I'm still not over it!
I didn't notice it at first, but I love how the Gryffindor common room is decorated using some variant of "The Lady and the Unicorn" tapestries. I wonder how many other people picked up on that one...
Always loved the Gothic style of Hogwarts: now that's my idea of a European boarding school!
I would pay good money (if I had it) to have a talking portrait of Dawn French.
Such cozy memories, thanks for the post!
..wonder what i'll feel bout HP ten years later.. =)
