Jamie Pup: Lurve Holmes on Homes - mainly because I do DIY but he is also very charismatic...without the sickening schmaltz of Extreme makeover: home edition. Not sure about his penchant for wearing only a tank top under his Carhartt overalls but the rest of his look is dead on.
Reef: My husband is Canadian and when he talks about wanting to move back there I start dreaming about the Holmes on Homes guy building me a house in Canada.
New Tenant: I like ... some of those canadian shows - they're really good. There was a whole marathon of this show called Holmes on Homes... he's kind of a super-hero contractor. Can you tell I'm kind of a design show addict?

Yeah, I agree.
He should lose the tank.
;)
One of the parts of the title on here says, "Holmes on Holmes" which makes him sound like a boxer. Or an autobiographer. Or an auto-something-er.
Where are you guys watching this show? I looked at HGTV's daily schedule and don't see it anywhere. It appears in Canada but how are you seeing it here in NYC?
Yeah, I've never even heard of this show.
I've never seen this show, and I watch a lot of HGTV!
Looks like this is on HGTV Canada. I know that here in NH, we definitely don't get this show. Looks pretty interesting though.
I've never watched it, but it's on the Discovery Home Channel
Yup, it's on the Discovery Home channel. Great show!

Love the show. It is a shame how people get taken by such shoddy contractors. Not sure about the overalls look either but Holmes is a hottie!
Have been watching the show religiously for several months. I often watch re-runs because I can't pick everything that Mike says the first time around. If anything this show makes me want to never renovate my home. It seems that there are too many bad contractors out there.
LOVE THE SHOW WANT MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS MARK FROM MO
Great information. I rehab homes and find the tips VERY helpful. PLEASE keep doing what you do! You are helping more people than you will ever know!!
We stumbled across him on the US's Discovery Home Channel (the low-rent cousin to US HGTV). Now Holmes on Homes is on my TiVo.
We love Mike Holmes and his can-do attitude! I will carry his sledgehammer any day.
How would I go about trying to sign up for this guys help? We've had our ceiling & walls rebuilt on the ground floor three times due to a leakage problem in the upstairs bathroom. There is mold growing on the insides of the wall, ceiling, & floor making me sick! The upstairs bath leaks due to a bad tile job (I think), which makes it rain in the downstairs bath, but now it's all going directly through the wall, straight to the basement. A raining basement is bad! Three bathtubs have been put in, new greenboard, new tile twice, caulking, bad drywall replaced all the way to the ground floor. HELP!

I found Holmes' website--they are taking applications for next season's shows, according to the site:

love the show!!! great guy!! honest.
hope he comes to Renfrew, Ont.
How does he find the contractors who work on the show? Are they regulars? Has he ever fired anyone for doing a poor job? I would be interested in knowing what questions to ask a prospective renovator. He seems to have specialists and not just general contractors. Is this correct? Wouldn't that be much more expensive to have to hire different professionals for different areas in your home?
Thanks
Wendy
I love the Show, a lot of what he says, reminds me of waht my father said. "do it right the first time and it'll last forever!"
Could do with Mike and his crew over here, what a genuine honest guy, keep it up Mike.
