Paper, Plastic, Glass, and... Electronics. Wouldn't it be great if there was an easy way to recycle your e-waste, like a 4th bin? Well, there just might be in the near future. Valiant Technology recently launched a competition calling for entrants to design an E-waste logo and E-waste Bin for New York City. Their intent is to see a clearly labeled 4th bin in every NYC building, and eventually across the country, to help people dispose of their electronics responsibly...
The logo will be released as a public design (under Creative Commons), the e-waste version of the highly-recognizable möbius strip. Judges for the competition include Scott Henderson of Studio Scott Henderson + MINT, Aki Ishida of the Parsons The New School for Design + Ishida/Crandall, and Susan S. Szenasy of Metropolis Magazine, among others. Online submissions are accepted through May 1st, and regular submissions through June 19th.
See all the details and guidelines at www.4thbin.org.
What do you think? Will you enter the competition?
