Designed by architect Gordon Bunshaft in 1950, Manhattan House stands as a quintessential symbol of modernist architecture on Manhattan’s East 66th Street. Last week, James Huniford, along with two other designers, revealed his irresistible design for one of the classic building’s swanky, new model apartments.
Celebrated designers James Huniford, Rita Konig, and Celerie Kemble were each recently asked to turn one of three Manhattan House model apartments into a stylish and enticing space for potential buyers. At an unveiling last week, Huniford’s design debuted in an event that honored his interior and also raised awareness of Creative Growth, a California based company that nurtures artists with disabilities.
With expressive works of art hanging against a soft, grey backdrop, Huniford's gorgeous space incorporates an irresistible mix of antique and contemporary furnishings. (We are especially loving the inclusion of the Sitzmaschine Chair by Josef Hofmann!)

Everything just flows in perfection. He has really mastered tonal here with just a hint or tint of color, nothing looks flat.
He has a gift for balancing and proportion of scale mixing and a very old piece here and there with beautiful contemporary modern, its seamless.
If I were wealthy he would be my designer.
