Design + Sound = Orla Kiely Digital Radio & iPod Player

Apartment Therapy readers have a long standing love for all things Orla, so we had to share this bit of news as it hit our inbox today — an announcement of Orla Kiely's latest design partnership which has resulted in what might be one of the cutest sound systems ever - her version of the EVOKE Mio Radio. Brand new…

… it is exclusively available through Orla Kiely and John Lewis this month with expansion to other retailers beginning in early 2011 (hopefully some in the US!).

Here are some details from the press release for those interested in more than its good looks:

Based on the multi award-winning and iconic EVOKE-1S, EVOKE Mio by Orla Kiely is packed with features including digital and FM radio and an input for an iPod/ MP3 player. The radio can also be taken out and about thanks to support for the optional ChargePAK, which gives the user up to 24 hours of portable listening between charges. Other features include an OLED (Organic LED) display which is crystal-clear from any angle and has both manual and automatic brightness controls; textSCAN and Intellitext for pausing and controlling scrolling text and storing information for browsing at a later date; an alarm, kitchen timer and 30 presets.
