Designer: Donna Wilson
From: born in Scotland and has moved to London where her studio is based
When it comes to current designers, Donna Wilson's whimsical creatures and textiles are easy to recognize. Though she began with her well-known and well-loved creatures, her newer ventures include furnishings and even fashion accessories. The colors, sweet faces, and rich textures are just itching to bring some smiles to your corner of the world.
When she describes herself as "colourful, smiley (most of the time), messy, bendy, and Scottish", she also defines most of her line. Originally from Scotland, Wilson's distinctive style began with knitting at an early age, and she still uses traditional knitting traditions as a source of inspiration. She began her career in 2003, making her family of knitted companions and creatures while finishing her master's in London. In the end she created a sold-out collection and launched her brand immediately afterwards.
Today, Donna Wilson's line includes creatures, cushions, blankets, accessories, ceramics, glassware, stationery, and table linens. Plus, check out the eco-friendly Eadie armchair decked out in her signature textiles. Everything she creates features that signature warmth, whimsical characters and illustrations, beautiful color combinations, and striking patterns.
