When we were in the airport the other day, we were behind a young women that was decked out in designer duds. As we were waiting in line to unload our goods to be checked through security, she pulled out what seemed to be gadget after gadget after gadget.

Not that it really matters, but were surprised that she didn't have top of the line cases for all of her tech. She had cases for her laptop, iPad and cell phone and we bet she'd be interested in knowing that designer iPad cases are soon to be released.
The Gucci iPad cases were officially ready for pre-sale purchases yesterday, June 7th on Gucci.com and will reach the flagship store on June 15th. Available in three colorways and made from their signature Gucci print with leather enclosures.
Louis Vuitton is also planning to release their very own iPad cases. The cases are available in signature monogram and the monochrome Damier Graphite. Louis Vuitton is going to make you wait a little longer than Gucci &mdash their cases won't be available until 2011 and sold for $366.
So, if you have an extra $366 after purchasing the iPad &mdash would you buy a designer iPad case?

Why would anyone spend that much money on case? And it doesn't look like it protects the tech properly. pat3ck's recommendation of the DODOcase is great. Although there's a bit of a wait for it (6 weeks last time I checked). The incase book jacket folio case is pretty good too. I like the United SGP Vintage Edition Leather Case. At $70 it's on the pricier side of what I'd like to purchase but still looks pretty good.
People will spend that much money on the case because they care about their overall appearance. I spent $300 on a computer bag. Yes, I could have spent $25 on one (and wouldn't have had to buy a protective sleeve to go inside it for the laptop), but the less expensive ones were ugly and masculine or were pink pleather (I'm a lady). I design buildings for a living, and I design my personal appearance, and that aesthetic extends to what I carry my computer in when I'm running through the airport.
That being said, I don't buy merchandise with obvious logos, because I refuse to pay to advertise for someone, so, no, I wouldn't buy one of the iPad cases featured above.
If you're a style-savvy woman, you'll want to look good in every way - including treating yourself to a stylish iPad case!
