'Tis the season of designer showhouses, and this most recent one has popped up in a historic 1906 mansion on the Jersey shore to benefit the Sephardic Community Center of Brooklyn. The chic beachy living room pictured above is by William McIntosh.
The house is located at 136 Ocean Avenue in Deal, New Jersey, and will be open through June 30th.
If you'd like to see the rooms by Jamie Drake, Jamie Herzlinger, and Robert Passal among other notable designers, you can purchase tickets here and learn about all the special events surrounding the fundraiser.

Shaw's Original Fir...
That room is beautiful but I am not too sold on the paint colors...maybe wrong blue and white or maybe how it is painted but something doesn't look settled.
Yes, ClintonAve-- the blue could be grayed down a bit, but my eye is distracted by the line of demarcation, which competes with the lovely moulding. It would work more smoothly in a room with less wonderful bones.
I, too, am distracted by that line of blue. I'm not sure I'd like any colour that continues on the fireplace.
Maybe it's because my basement just flooded, but I really don't like the paint job that completely ignores the architectural detail and makes the room look like it was flooded with paint. Clever and modern perhaps, but I find it unsettling.
I live in the next town over from Deal but $30 just to walk through!!! no thanks.
I love the boldness of reshaping the room with wall and curtain colors. I think the nautical theme is appropriate for a beach house. Love the neutral furniture too. It is low on light but I truly hate that lamp shade to the right... always hated those big tippy dust catching 60's lampshades. Something modern (even exposed, frosted bulbs) imo would have worked better.
The room would have been beautiful if it weren't for that random paintjob - There are other ways to bring that great color into the space that isn't so trendy.
I love the blue. I particularly love the way the line crosses over the fireplace. I think it's a great room.
