Desk Lamp Held Together with Rubber Bands

If we were to imagine what MacGyver's home office would look like we think it would have this lamp in it. Designed by Israeli designer Noam Bar Yohai, his series of six task lamps are made from wood that's held together by rubber bands. No screws, hinges, or glue were used on these bad boys.

Each has an arrangement of LED bulbs. "Heat- shrink tubing used in electronics, was used in places where friction was needed and adds a touch of extra color thus expending its original use," Yohai writes. Small pieces of metal were used throughout to help balance the structures.

Unfortunately these lamps are quite available yet. Yohai made them for his graduation project at The Holon Institute of Technology in Israel.
