Amber did. Because Courtney told her. And Courtney should know because she mailed 236 of them! Receiving anything in the mail is fun for a child, but just think what a smile a frisbee or other unusual object would put on their face. Not to mention all the possibilities for kids' party invitations.
In fact, Courtney's 236 frisbees were invitations to a picnic for her sons' preschool. Amber is the author of Giver's Log where she focuses on gift giving both large and small, meaningful and fun. Above is her frisbee all ready to be mailed out (having non-envelope mail hand stamped at your local post office is recommended).
Whether you wrap it or not, Amber's put together a Flickr group for photos of fun 13 oz. or less mail. Have you mailed anything interesting?

My cousin mailed her wedding invitations, which were coconuts...whole coconuts that arrived with the info printed on them!
One of those entrepeneur game/reality shows (Shark Tank?) had a sister pair who wanted $$ to invest in their 'Send-a-ball' business. Inflated, plastic, playground-sized play balls can also be sent through the mail.
This is a great reminder to use this idea as an unusual invitation. Wired Magazine has been doing this for years in their "Return to Sender" column.
