Did you watch? I know I did. And my favorite designing couple didn't disappoint. The Rockaway Beach house had so much youthful energy that I found a ton of it relevant to kids' rooms. See what I learned from Bob and Cortney in episode one...

White Enamel Four-P...
I didn't like the house!! The best part of that house was the kitchen. I feel those girls were too old for paint splatter on the walls? I usually like there style but this redo was a thumbs down:(
I thought it was a really good getaway house for two young beach girls. Makes me wish I was a young beach girl in my twenties, instead of just pretending to be one in various chats and forums online.
I liked it a bit more than I thought I would, and my taste is diametrically different. The designers did bring all the elements together pretty well.
My biggest problem is how trendy this design is. In 5 years it'll look outdated.
I think the style (or 'trend') will last for THEM. It seemed like it was perfect for the two of them. I also loved that they were able to do so much on such a limited budget.
This was my first time seeing the show. Glad i enjoyed it. Can't wait till the next episode.
I watched and really liked some of the ideas -- and others not so much. Painted stairs - YES! Am going to do my basement steps in the next month or two I will def. be watching again!
of course i watched, the novogratz always make their projects seem effortless, and fun to watch.
Sorry, I wasn't overly impressed. For the most part, I liked the results, though the bedroom really seemed too tweenagery, than surfer girl. Mostly, I just kind of found both the Novogratz kind of annoying.
I generally like their high/low mix and exhuberance and there were things about the new design I liked - the kitchen and pink painted floor but the "graffiti art" with giant stickers was just silly and inappropriate for anyone over 20. This will need to be replaced soon. Hate to be cynical and think they wanted to highlight an artist due to budget/connections; also the boxing photo was way outta place. They can do better and I hope to see it!
Much ado about nothing IMHO. The design was nice, but more flash than dash, again, IMHO. I learned less about design than about their drama. Didn't really pick up many helpful tips. Like Sarah 101 or Candice Tells All much better. Again, MHO.
I was a bit mixed on this one. I really liked 9 by Design and was looking forward to the new show.
I have to agree with some others that this was extremely trendy and likely won't last. I thought the 'inspiration' of Betsey Johnson turning into every single thing in the house being pink was a bit much. That said, I liked the stairs a lot, and the kitchen was nice.
I also noticed that there was much more name dropping, vendor plugging, and the like than there was in 9 by Design; I guess they gotta get paid, but I don't gotta like it.
