There are those folks whose parents were always throwing dinner parties, backyard barbeques and silly get-togethers. And there are those who come from more quiet, introverted homes, where parents made excellent guests but rarely hosted themselves. While it's certainly not the only factor that plays a part in how often and how well you host, we're curious: did you grow up with parents who entertained often?
If you did, what are the tips you learned from your parents that you've incorporated into your entertaining life? What are the things you watched your parents do...that you find yourself doing when you have guests over?
If you grew up with parents who didn't entertain in the home often, do you find yourself following suit? Has it been harder for you to engage in entertaining in your home? What are the entertaining tips you've learned for yourself?
Whatever your entertaining family history, what types of get-togethers have you found to be the easiest for folks who are intimidated by entertaining?
