Yes, you might have an iPod, Zune or something different that stores all of your music library. But sometimes you don't need to take your whole collection, and there are quite a few pint-sized players that save pocket space, yet give you plenty of storage for hours of music. We like to say, "4 GB of music in your pocket, surely beats the 30GB iPod you left at home."

Coby Clip 1 GB MP3 Player
The Coby MP-550 Clip is a fully functional media player that lets you enjoy up to 1 GB of music in both MP3 and WMA file formats. Just plug in the included earphones and operation is simple, with volume, play, pause, and previous and next track controls. It even has random shuffle music playback to change up your old playlist. Connection via USB 2.0 means high-speed file transfers, so you can be on your way in no time.

iPod Shuffle, 2GB
With voice over and over 15 hours of audio playback, this little guy gets fully charged in about 3 hours, meaning less downtime and more music time! The Shuffle is a favorite in the gym and plays MP3, VBR, AAX, AAX+, Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV. They went back to the big, clickable buttons for an easy way to play your music. Made of anodized aluminum and comes in 5 delicious colors. The built in clip is a nice touch and is very secure.

Thanko Microsports Tiny MP3 Player
This is probably the smallest mp3 player out there now. The Microsports measures no more than an average Bluetooth headset. Thanko combines the earbud with the player itself. A cable is included so you can enjoy stereo tunes. Available in 2GB and even 4GB capacity, you'll enjoy have plenty of music for the day unless you're a chronic song skipper/searchers. The Microsport supports MP3, WMA and WAV files, with the size and weight of an average Bluetooth headset. And while we've seen similar micro players strung from lanyards, this is the first we can recall with an integrated ear-bud – the second bud attaches via USB-cable for stereo audio.

I have an iPod Shuffle (2nd generation, almost the same as the current one). It is great when I want music with me, but don't want to carry a heavy player around. It is especially nice when exercising.
Of course, since I got an iPhone, I have used it less. If I am carrying my phone anyway, why carry a separate tiny player?
Sansa Clip and Clip+, best tiny mp3 players on the market.
How can you even suggest something from Coby or Thanko, tsk tsk.
I'm with peshue on this. I have a 4GB Clip, that I've added an 8GB microSD card to. The price of the player and the card are less than the price of the shuffle, and it includes a radio. I'm actually surprised that 1GB players are even sold anymore. I don't know anything about Thanko, but Coby makes junk!
