Q: Hi, I need help! I bought this mid-century table (circa 1968) a few months ago and had it stained ebony. The table seats 10 and it is one solid piece of wood. My problem is chairs. The chairs that came with the table are fully upholstered (you can see them in one pic).
I was originally going to get them reupholstered but after a few days of my three year old on them, I tabled that idea. The chair just has way too much fabric and after getting a price for fixing some of the broken chairs/reupholstering, it wasn't worth it to me.
Now I'm on the hunt for chairs that are somewhat kid friendly (2 boys), that can be used daily but also serve as a formal dining area (dinner parties/holidays). I would like to have 6-8 side chairs and then 2 different head chairs.
Outside of the table, I don't have any design concept yet. My walls are a shade of light grey and I have attached pics of my living room design as it flows right into the dining room.
Any feedback would be great as I'm stuck and I would like this room done by Thanksgiving.
