Q: I have been endless hours trying to find a light fixture to fit our dining room space. The room is rectangular...the table is rectangular and the buffet is too! I did find two that I love - but they are out of my budget. Any suggestions on pieces that look similar. I love these two because they are simple with details that make them stand out. Not over the top....not too plain....What do you think?

Lampsplus.com has a pretty decent selection. This might be a bit on the plain side, but it is under $150: http://www.lampsplus.com/products/modern-chrome-27-inch-wide-6-light-chandelier__p4389.html
I think that by showing us only these 2 fixtures, you've drastically cut the creative potential of a thread such as this.
If you had shown us the actual room, we could probably have come up with something that might have worked perfectly, something which you might not have considered.
I have one very similar I bought about 4 years ago at JC Penneys. I don't see it there anymore but they have a few that are similar

I would avoid anything square or rectangle since the room, dining table and buffet are already rectangle. I think you need to break the scheme of sharp angles with a rounder and more organic shape, otherwise the space is going to look very stiff.
A George Nelson lamp or something like any of these below would bring in a new dimension to the room:

I personally have labored over more lighting choices than any other decision in my life and I can tell you finding the right lighting is so hard. alot of times rue la la and gilt have candice olson lighting pretty cheap, which looks similar to both of your choices above. agree with the above poster though - show us your space :)
