This room from Cote Maison, furnished entirely in IKEA, includes a few solutions for a small eat-in kitchen table that needs to expand or contract on demand. The nice thing about this set-up is that it combines storage, countertop space, and seating all in one area...
- The Norden table converts from a counter into a table that seats two or four.
- Drawers inside the Norden store kitchen accessories and cutlery.
- Two Nordmyra chairs serve as the main seating in the breakfast nook.
- A striped Sveje rug separates the sink from the dining area.
- Stackable Frosta stools stow away under the counter, waiting to be used for extra seating.

i have that table for our teeny tiny kitchen... and i LOVE it. it may be the smartest purchase i've ever made.
I have the rug, but in red stripe. It's machine washable but a b*tch to keep spotless. It's like every molecule of soy sauce, or I Can't Believe it's not Butter spray, finds its way to this rug. Maddening when my laundry charges $6 per load.

Oh, no. Does this really exist? No, really?
Er "Cote Maison", or 2009 Ikea catalogue page 97 (exact same picture)
Thanks, idontdobeige - it was featured on Cote Maison's site, but you're right - it is from the catalog.
And I've just embarassingly revealed myself as sad enough to know every single thing in the Ikea catalogue! (Although in my defence I did have to look up what page it was on, I'm not quite that bad)
Hi everyone! I have a kitchen with beech coloured cabinets and could use this table as there’s not much space to spare… Has anyone painted this kind of table or did something to make it look more finished and stylish? I could really use some advice… Thanks!
