Over the break we spent a lot of time wandering around neighborhoods we usually just dash through, getting a chance to duck in and out of stores we'd passed but never stopped in to. In one of them a friend called us over to look at a necklace she was considering. The necklace was beautiful, the display something we'd appropriate for our home.
While Suzette Jewels' Donna Choi had displayed the baubles at Serifos this way in order for them to be available for potential customers to admire and finger, we like this idea to display what we have (I don't know about you but I tend to wear the same necklaces over and over again until I have reason to go to my jewelry box and discover something I haven't seen or worn in a long time. And then the cycle begins anew). It also keeps more delicate items from getting tangled up or broken when they get mixed up with other things and, frankly, some stuff is just too pretty to keep hidden away. While the obvious place for this is the bedroom or the bathroom, consider taking some of your pieces out of the bedroom: draped around liquor bottles, they mimic those old fashioned labels; hang one around the neck of a bottle neck lamp or a vase with a bit of a "shoulder".
