We do prefer a great board game over computer games and apps. The only downside is storage. The first few boxes are harmless enough but after that, things start getting unwieldy quickly. Beckie of Infarrantly Creative had a special disdain for game boxes so she did something about it.
Beckie came up with the fantastic idea of using the colorful game boards as art work. She constructed these shadow box frames custom-sized to each game board and hung them to add color in the room. She then stored all the pieces in a baggie and attached them to the back of each frame. Display and storage together. Brilliant! we have a bunch of vintage game boards on display in the play room. we just put an eyelet on either side of the top of the board and hung them with ribbon. they're simple and still usable! i need to post this on my blog...thanks for the reminder!
I just did this with a bunch of square Ikea Ribba frames for our playroom. Perfect fit, cheap art.
Very fun!
