It's more common than not to have your kids sharing the same space. It's almost becoming more frequent (especially in small spaces) to have your nursery be part of your main family area. We love this inexpensive rope idea to divide off your space without losing all visibility.
This inspirational space can be found in the Human House in Sydney, a project by Alwill Architects. If the rope is too plain for you, it could always be made to look a little less natural and spray painted or dyed before being strung up.
We think it's a great way to give two kids their privacy without making their own areas feel smaller or closed off. Make sure to check out the rest of the Human House, there's good design all around!

I'm not a crazy baby-proofer, but this strikes me as an accident waiting to happen. If your mini-blinds can't have a cord anymore, this can't be a good idea.
Um, it's a bit early for April Fools' – ropes in a kids' space? Seriously?
If my kids can scale a doorway, then those ropes has better bed anchored well.
If you're worried about safety, I'm sure you could come up with knots or ties every few inches to make a neat design to make it appear more child proof.
Knots would make it worse! Knots would make it a cargo net, basically...alot like the ones found on every playground. My philosophy of parenting is...what would the headline say and is there anyone that would get blamed besides me? I can just see it: "Crafty mom's baby dies in macrame horror house."
This is also the reasoning that led me to veto my husband's recent idea of golfing with the baby in the baby bjorn: "Mom allows dad to take baby golfing with tragic results"
Aside from the ridiculous danger factor, it looks like a cage!
Danger - danger - horribly dangerous idea! This one ought to be deleated it's that bad.
Move it to AT and take out the references to making it work in a space with kids, and you'll be fine. But you'll still all the "unsafe for kids!" comments.
