I like DIY planter ideas, and this is a good one. The homeowners from Our First House knew they wanted a planter that was a little lower and subtle than the retail options they were seeing. Our First House does all kinds of gardening projects, and building is always the go-to option for them. This low-lying planter was created to house small plants that hug the concrete and give it a little warmth.

Even if I wanted to find something similar in the store I fear I'd have a hard time, and I really like that this is something new! It would easily work in areas where you're not looking to make a large statement but still desire a little more texture and greenery. Check out how it's done including what else makes up the bottom of the planter besides chicken wire at Our First House.
