Making your own soap dispenser might be taking DIY a little too far, but we sure to love the look, especially when it saves us from using (and discarding) plastic soap bottles. This industrial-looking one is made out of a tin can and holds a surprise inside. Can you guess what it is?
In the past we've looked at soap dispensers made from mason jars, and while attractive, sometimes we don't want the world seeing exactly how low on soap we are, or what color it is.
This tutorial utilizes an empty soup can and a small canning jar. The can is the cover, and when the pump is screwed into the jar it hides the can. It's an easy look that allows you to customize your pump.

This is great. Not taking it too far at all, my boyfriend buys the little plastic ones, and what's more the bagger always gives it its own plastic bag, even though the pump has a lock mechanism! Very wasteful. This is way better!
