Sensory and activity boards are both entertaining and stimulating for little ones. Heck, I've even caught myself zipping and unzipping, latching and unlatching on some of these toys before. I love the homemade ones, though, because there are so many clever ways to incorporate everyday items into activities for kids.
These boards are particularly interesting because they include items specifically geared towards infants. Asia Citro from Fun at Home with Kids designed these toys so that both her toddler daughter and infant son could play and explore. I love the embroidery hoops with differently textured fabrics.
Apparently, this baby really does, too.
For toddlers, Asia suggests a way to use the fabric wall by keeping a separate bag of scraps; have your child reach in, feel a scrap without looking, and then try to find the matching fabric on the wall.
Just make sure you don't take over play time yourself.
