Ahoy! DIY Bunk Bed Pirate Mast

What's better than a bunk bed in your room? A bunk bed with a pirate mast, of course! This clever DIY is simple to complete and turns your child's bunk bed into a pirate ship and fort, all rolled up into one.

Kristen at Down Home Inspiration created this play space for her little buccaneer. With a few simple supplies, you can build a sail that can be lowered and raised from the top bunk. While underneath, the lowered sail creates a fort on the bottom bunk; while up top, raising and lowering the sail makes your kid into the ship's captain (or perhaps just an able-bodied sailor). Add a crow's nest to compete the transition from furniture to sea-worthy vessel.
