Just because stretched canvas is easy to buy doesn't mean we all need to go out and try to paint our own masterpieces. But here are some simple DIY canvas paintings most anyone can try at home:
• 1 a flora-inspired pattern via Women's Day
• 2 a landscape-like triptych, via Cut Out + Keep
• 3 Painting a canvas in a solid color is easy and a good way to try out wall colors without committing, via Creative Influences
• 4 Don't paint the canvas at all, but cover it with fabric instead, via Real Simple

White Enamel Four-P...
I don't know, that third one looks pretty involved...
The third one is for advanced DIY-ers. ;)
Do you guys know where I can get something like the third one? It's so beautiful but I don't trust myself to make something like that. Way too ornate for my talents.
I totally attemped to make a " modern abstract" painting because thats all our budget would allow. It cracks me up when people ask where I got it. I try to play it off like I bought it from some chic art boutique but I usually crack up and tell them the truth. :-)
Haha you guys are funny!
I like the first and last one. Instead of framing wallpaper, you could look at a sample of it, or a cute tea towel, and make a design inspired by it. I think I'm going to dig my blank canvases out of my closet and do some painting tonight!
I wanted to mention, it's good to recycle art. Someone gave me a wrapped canvas print (not an original) that I don't care for, so I primed and painted right over top of it.
I like doing silhouettes with a sharpie (over pencil sketch) on canvas that I've painted a single color.
forgot a link to my fav. http://www.flickr.com/photos/57849653@N00/2403004245/in/set-72157613033136905/
Why not try to paint your own masterpiece? There's no art sheriff to stop you.
Can anyone identify the desk in the first photo?

Ha. Yes. It does!
I dare you =]
Just look at number three!!!
I saw an episode once of a show, where some kinds of designers competed against each other to finally get a spread in Elle Decor, I think, and one of the top 3 designers painted a huge square canvas simply by tipping the contents out of several paint jars, kind of like a coloured zebra. He then let the paint run all the way down, let it dry and turned the canvas 90 degrees. It looked insanely cool!
Another favourite of mine is a piece consisting of nine smaller canvases in three rows and three columns. There are endless options as to how you can decorate them and even I might be ready to give it a go; nine unique "popping" colours is what I have in mind. Neither expensive nor laborious.
Anybody know who makes the table and chairs in the 3rd picture?
