Checkers is an underrated game. Am I right? It's relatively easy to learn, can be played with varying levels of strategy, and if you make this carpet version, it's quiet as all get out.
Monica Ewing from Crafty Nest put together this project with some leftover carpet samples that she had laying around. I don't want to start a whole new paint chip controversy, but if you happen to have some carpet remnants, you're golden on this project. Or, as Monica points out, you can get some Flor carpet tiles, and they work just as well, or better.
Monica's tutorial is thorough and well-documented; she even shows you how to make the checkers and the tin for housing them. King me!
