What a great activity for the little ones to practice decorating over and over again. Victoria of City Cradle made this wooden chalkboard tree for drawing and hanging ornaments on. Here's how she did it:
She tells us,
"As a part of my vintage Christmas home set up I created this DIY children's chalkboard tree. It was very easy to make: I simply purchased green chalkboard paint from my local hardware store and hand traced a tree outline. I painted two coats onto a thin square of wood to create the tree and nailed in a few small nails to hang kid friendly ornaments from. We then went to work "decorating" our tree. Drawing in ornaments, stars and many other shapes with our chalk. I keep a small bowl near the tree with chalk and extra ornaments for hanging when we are in the mood. It has been a really fun project and the tree has now been wiped off and redecorated multiple times!"
Victoria's an event and photo stylist (and mother of twins) with lots of lovely photos on her site, The City Cradle.
