I've been working on my closet for some time now, trying to figure out how to maximize space and make it feel less utilitarian and more glamorous. Now that I've made some progress — or at least have a solid plan — I can focus on the little details. Pretty frocks deserve pretty hangers, don't you think?
My hanger stash is currently a mix of cheapo plastic and metal hangers from IKEA. I don't have any wire hangers, probably because I can't get Mommie Dearest out of my head whenever I see one. ("No wire hangers, EVER!").
They're functional, for the most part. Anything silky or with a wide neckline slips right off the metal onto the floor, though, and the plastic hangers buckle under the weight of heavy coats. Plus, they're downright drab.
I dig the idea of mixing up some of these super-easy DIY ideas to add instant style to any closet. You could go wild with color or come up with a cohesive palette (I'm putting up bold wallpaper in my closet, so I will probably pick complementary hues and patterns).
