This intricate side table looks like it came from a high-end store, but it's actually a (surprisingly) simple DIY. Can you guess what the wooden pattern is?
A bath mat! And one that came from Target, even.
Despite the table being made from concrete and wood, the project requires no difficult concrete pouring, but rather concrete layering using ARDEX Feather Finish (a process similar to painting on the surface). The concrete is then sanded, sealed, and the bath mat glued on using construction adhesive. Since a hollow form is used for the table, it also won't weigh a ton.

where did that rug come from?
Wow...
That is awe inspiring.
Genius! What a great looking table...
All I can say is....AWESOME!!!!! This is just beautiful and does seem genuinely doable! I'd like to know what the dimensions of the table are as it looks like you may have used two mats(?). Also, do you really need to use the Ardex around the whole form? In other words, couldn't you just glue the mats directly to the form? Thx!!!!
Love the rug.
Brilliant idea!
I'm pretty sure the rug is a wool rug I've seen on rugsusa.com.
Really gorgeous!
