If ever there was an expo I would have loved to attend, this is it. MT Masking Tape is one of the foremost makers of Washi tape, one of my favorite supplies in the world. I have at least 10 rolls hanging around to use on anything I can get my hands on! These images from their 2011 expo get my mind brimming with ideas!
Hello Sandwich, an amazing blog by an Australian graphic artist living in Tokyo, attended and photographed last year's MT Expo. As a self-proclaimed lover of "Pantone 107.3 and metallic hologram foil, polka dots and plaid, Holbein gouache and fluoro pencil," she is the perfect person to report on the event. I'm happy to have discovered her blog, as well, via Anthology.
Through the lens of her camera, you get to experience what it would be like if everything were covered in Washi tape! I am in love with the bicycle, and have half a mind to go to town on my own with some tape and some Mod Podge!
Go check out the post and get super inspired to start covering everything with colorful stripes! And don't miss Hello Sandwich's gift wrapping zine (and her blog in general, for that matter) for more DIY inspiration.
