How I love to stumble across simple but smart ways to temporarily transform things in your home that you don't particularly love or want to look at. I'm looking at you A/C units, water heaters and dated appliances. Whitney, who lives in a tiny Venice Canal cottage, shared her strategy for covering up her old dishwasher. And it's good.
She just used magnets! And patterned paper! With just a small piece of Justina Blakeney's Aja wallpaper, Whitney Leigh Morris made the front of her dishwasher infinitely more fun and colorful. And if she hates it in a couple of months, all she has to do is take it down (or swap out another piece of wallpaper). We featured their adorable Venice Canal home in 2015 but you can see what her home looks like today on her Instagram account. Go for the dishwasher but stay for the dogs (they are both that good).
If you want a few other ideas, these two are also awesome:
The Kitchn featured Julie Blanner’s hack good-looking hack last year, which she used steel film to cover her dishwasher to make it look like an actual stainless steel appliance.
This white dishwasher got some headboard and trim courtesy of Lemonade Makin' Mama. It looks like a much more expensive custom panel.
