If you've just shelled out $500 for an iPad, the last thing you want to do is spend another pretty penny on a case for it. But, as anyone who's ever dropped an iPhone can tell you, a protective sleeve for your practically all-screen device is not an optional accessory. Go the DIY route and make a not-bad-looking duct tape case.

Over at The Unofficial Apple Weblog, they've featured a homemade iPad sleeve fashioned from duct tape. To keep it official, the case has even been fitted with an Apple sticker. We know how fanboys love those little white logos.

There's not a ton of description on how it's made, but we're guessing it goes a lot like the super-easy cushioned laptop case we spotted at Instructables: Spread out packing sheets and get to taping. You can even get crazy with different duct tape colors.
