Dabble Magazine's added another reason to our list of many to get ourselves an iPad this year. The new online publication is a mix of travel, food and decor stories. We loved the feature on creating your own DIY faux-paneled walls, a perfect way to add a little glamor and architectural interest to an otherwise plain Jane room.
Use two colors of paint, some 1" wide painter's tape, a metal ruler and a level to create this geometric pattern which not only adds interest to your walls but creates the illusion of height, a bonus in a small room. Use the same technique to add faux-paneling to plain wood doors. For a more dramatic look, try black and white, navy and white or black and green. Shaw's Original Fir...
This is so cool. I was just looking at the paneling on one of the rooms here http://www.aliceindesignland.com/blog/designer-showcase-wary-meyers.html and lusting for it. Now I can recreate it, well sort of.
Wow, how timely. I was just thinking about doing this in my new house. Thanks.
Cute! I've been thinking about paneling our dining room, I may have to consider this.
Is the dove the one by Australian John Spooner for Amnesty International?
Oh, it's Pablo Picasso's Dove of Peace.
Good god I am doing this behind my bed STAT. Not like I haven't thought about it, but seeing it has sealed the deal! Thanks for sharing!
