When Neva Brasher found herself with a cracked iPhone case, she did what any thrifty mom and at-heart crafter would do — save it. One day inspiration struck and she now has a fabulous felted iPhone for her two children to tote around. More details after the jump.
Although electronics might be expensive, we love repurposing old cases and hardware for something new. Just like laptops that are turned into something usable for small children, this play iPhone gives little hands something to play with that isn't the real thing. We like knowing things we pay for might still have a little life left in them yet and this is an excellent example of that! You can read more about Neva and her crafting adventures over at My Lovely Sunday.

That's adorable! I wish I could trick my son with something like that, but he can tell if it's not the real thing.
Ditto on not being fooled...two broken iPhones later, though, my husband has resolved to never let our son play with his phone again.
Now I'm wondering what my son would think about a phone made with something photo-realistic...like a cardboard cutout, or an iron-on. Probably still too smart, darn it. We just gave him an old, disabled flip phone. The buttons still beep, which is great.
Yeah! One stocking stuffer down!
