This glitter iPhone charger DIY has been circulating on Pinterest — Louisa has step-by-step instructions on her blog, For Chic's Sake. It's cool — but is it practical?
The idea is a good one: in a home with multiple smart phone users, how do you keep your iPhone charger from getting mixed up with your roommate's charger? For Louisa, a bit of personalization, of course.
Here's how Louisa did it:
- Paint your charger with a glitter nail polish. (She used Essie's Luxe Effects in "A Cut Above".)
- Let it dry.
- When you want to change it up, carefully use nail polish remover to erase what you've done!
I love the end result, but there are a few steps I would add. Before putting glitter of any kind on your charger, I would also carefully use masking or painter's tape to cover any electrical inputs. You don't want any glitter, nail polish or glue getting in the actual electrical. Once done, I would allow it to dry outdoors or in a garage for 24 hours to allow for the strong smell to wear off.
What do you think? Are you going to give this DIY a try?

Using one of those Cutex Corrector pens to clean up the edges really helps.
You’ve got it, whatever that means in blogging. Anyway, You’re definitely someone that has something to say that people should hear. Keep up the wonderful job. Keep on inspiring the people!

I think nail polish remover might damage the plastic housing. Just a thought.
