Wall art is a big source of inspiration for us here at Ohdeedoh. It can provide points of interest when we're designing vignettes in our children's rooms. A fantastic piece of artwork can even be a primary focal point in an entire room. But original artwork is often out of reach for many budgets so we often settle for prints of originals (which are of course fabulous in their own right). If you're decorating your child's room and just feel that it's missing that original and unique piece to complete it, read on. You just might be able to make it yourself.
The always clever and creative folks at Curbly have shared a fantastic D.I.Y. tutorial that shows you how to create your own low-cost graphic artwork. The results have fabulous pops of color, bold graphic lines, a typography lover's touch and of course - they are completely original and handmade by you.
You can personalize your artwork by using the first letter in your child's name, or choose a number (or group of numbers) that has special meaning to you and your family like a birthdate for example. You could also create a canvas that celebrates the number of people in your family and display that in the family room. Or just create something abstract that provides a pop of color and pattern for a room - the possibilities are endless. This is a great way to gift a piece of you to your child.
